The Blackbird Saga (working title) is the series of books I'm working on. Really, I'm just working on the first volume as of now.
The story takes place in a high fantasy world. The main character is a spirit. Spirits are beings that used to be people but somehow turned into spirits (the way differs), and they need a 'vessel' to stay connected to the physical world. In most cases, this vessel is a human, and the spirit can control this human, while the original human keeps some autonomy over the body. They share it. Most spirits also have a sort of 'animal form' which is some animal, either hologram or physical or whatever, it differs a lot again, which is their 'self'.
Book I is about Oesala, one such spirits, and her new vessel, Sésṍlam. It is about their first year together, about Sésṍlam (who has been raised to become Oesala's vessel) to learn to see herself as a person worth it to be treated nicely rather than just a tool, about Oesala having to deal with her trauma of an ancient past which comes up partly because of Sésṍlam, partly because of the state her mind is in, and partly because of developments elsewhere in the world.
The second volume will be about Erundur, another spirit. The third volume will be about Oesala and Erundur's reunion after being seperated some 1400 years ago
