Kenele the Spirit greets Oesala the Great Spirit, and whomever it may concern
Today, I was shown some troubling new research about the Great Machine. It seems the effects of draining mana from the ground might be worse than expected earlier.
We should proceed with caution, possibly scale back the machine.
Please responsed swiftly
Kenele lays down besides Oesala, her mentor and best friend, privately
Oesala.. The actual results of the research are worse than I said in the public letter. We’re building a giant building, which is already rough for the ground.. Draining the mana to this extent seems to weaken the underground further, and the entire thing will sink into the ground at some point, and who knows what faults might appear, rogue magic, connected to everybody’s receivers.. I don’t even want to imagine the destruction it might cause.. I’ve given you access to the research paper.
I didn’t want to cause panic before we’ve decided together how to deal with this shit, so let’s meet up, the two of us, Tõtelli, Eqquā, any others you think should be there, maybe Ñiettaquoua, maybe Erundur if you’d like that, though I doubt he’ll be of much use, heh~ maybe someone from the royal family. Then we can make it public and the people’ll hear us speaking in one voice.
Please Oesala.. We can’t just ignore this and pretend it’s all fine.. Write me a letter quickly, probably one public and one private one? Alright? And when we’ve had our meeting, let’s enjoy a few days together.
Oesala, the Greatest among Ngimonian Spirits, greets Kenele the Spirit of the Lower Pantheon, as well as Tõtelli of the Lower Panteon, and Eqquā of the Upper Pantheon, and whomever else it may concern, in response to the letter about troubling news on the Great Machine
There isn’t a problem. I’ve asked the geology and mana-manipulation faculties of the Capital University to find a way to use the Great Machine to solve this problem it causes.
I hope it’ll be clear to anyone that with its power, it’ll be able to draw in mana from an area so wide that the draining won’t be noticable anywhere. This might sound like an impossible feat, but nothing like the Great Machine has been constructed before, so its power will easily be enough to do this, and leave enough computation and mana to do whatever other work we want it to do.
Oesala, your elder and mentor, greets Kenele, her pupil, in private
You don’t want to cause panic?? Then don’t pretend everything is going wrong. Have you talked about this with anyone else again?? I assume you have with Tõtelli at least..
Let him know not to worry about it, let anybody else know, let everybody know. I had a quick talk with the head of the geology faculty, showed them the paper, and they told me that the idea I described in the public message would be probably work, though the full research hadn’t be done yet of course.
Let’s meet up, though. I’d like to take a break from work for a while, and if they’re done with the research before our little holiday ends, we can be reassured together. Maybe we could visit one of the inland cities?? I’ve barely been there lately, and I don’t think you’ve either, have you, foxy?? I’ll be looking forward to it!!
Kenele the Ngimonian Spirit, who might be from the Lower Pantheon, but still is More Directly Involved in the Technical Details of the Creation of the Great Machine than even Oesala, Another Ngimonian Spirit, who is also Privately Addressed by this Letter, is, privately greets the Afformentioned Greeted Person
Alright, let’s meet up in Políknát, two days from now, if that’s fine by you. Or I can come to the capital and we can take the train together. I assume you’re in the capital??
But expect me to be bugging you the entire time, and also, don’t be so annoying and degrading with your public greetings please.. I’ll see you then, birdy
Oesala privately flies down and lands on her best friend Kenele’s head
Come to the capital the day after tomorrow and we’ll take the train together
And sorry about the greeting, but I thought it would lend my word some force, reassuring the people a bit more than if I had used a more.. orthodox greeting?? It wasn’t that weird but.. yeah, you know
I’ll prepare a surprise as an appology, as long as you don’t bug me too much!!!
